The Influence of The Orient in Mexico
Very few people are aware that a very important commerce existed between Mexico and the Orient. The conduit of this phenomenon were the Philippine Islands;this activity lasted for about 250 years.Roughly from 1550 until 1800.
The era is called the "Manila Galleons","Nao China" or the "China Ships".The vessels used in this trading tradition were built on the western shores of Mexico under Spanish supervision;mostly in the Ports of San Blas and Acapulco.

  1. Hi Norm and Janet,

We enjoyed our time in San Blas very much. Very glad that we made your acquaintance. It was a breath of fresh air compared to Barra de Navidad, and especially La Cruz. I will definitely relate our experience with the water pumps to anyone who is interested. I still am wondering if it happened. We are wondering if you have any kind of a list of needs for the local people in order of importance? And also a shipping address? We have left our email address with Decade Dance. We are happy to have met you both and hope to see you in the future.

    1. Dear Helen,Kerry and Maya of Healing Touch,
The three of you brought a very special joy to all who met you.You are very special happy people;like the sailors of years past.
The local people need kids shoes, kids clothes ages from babies to about 10 years old.Next on the list would be clothes for adults;the teenagers seem to have their own styles. All of the above can be used things.Sadly they cannot be mailed to us as import taxes are very costly. The best way to get articles to us is by bringing them along when you return.Maybe they can be put aboard new visiting vessels headed to San Blas from Canada.
We wish you a wonderfull comfortable summer.
